These Terms and Conditions govern the Electronic Invoicing System (EIS) provided by the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA). By accessing or using the EIS, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the system.
2. User Accounts
- Account Creation: Users must provide accurate information during account registration. Mandatory fields must be completed.
- Account Security: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
- Email Verification: Users must verify their accounts using the validation code sent to their email or phone.
3. System Access
- The EIS is accessible via supported web browsers at https://eis-portal.mra.mw.
- Users must log in using their domain credentials and log out after use for security purposes.
4. Use of the System
- Inventory Management: Users must upload accurate inventory data and ensure proper mapping.
- Point of Sale (POS): Sales transactions must comply with tax regulations.
- Discount Settings: Discounts should be configured accurately and applied only to authorized items.
- Purchase Authorization: Users may enable or disable the Purchase Authorization Code (PAC) to protect their TIN.
5. Compliance with Tax Laws
- Users must issue tax invoices for all transactions as required by the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, 2024.
- Invoices must be generated through the EIS or an approved tax invoicing system.
- Accurate stock records must be maintained in compliance with reporting requirements.
6. Responsibilities of Users
- Users must ensure all data entered into the system is accurate and up-to-date.
- Inventory, customers, and suppliers must be managed properly within the system.
- Users must adhere to all MRA regulations.
7. Mobile and Desktop Applications
- Applications must be downloaded from authorized sources such as the MRA website or Google Play Store.
- Activation codes must be obtained from the POS Management Portal or email before use.
8. Prohibited Activities
- Fraudulent activities, including manipulation of inventory or sales data, are strictly prohibited.
- Unauthorized access, credential sharing, or system tampering is not allowed.
9. Data Privacy and Security
- MRA is committed to protecting user data, but users must safeguard their credentials.
- Users must not share sensitive information, such as activation codes, with unauthorized individuals.
10. System Updates and Maintenance
- MRA reserves the right to update or modify the EIS for better functionality or compliance.
- Users may experience temporary disruptions during system maintenance.
11. Termination of Access
- MRA may suspend or terminate access for non-compliance with these Terms.
- Users may request account deactivation by contacting MRA.
12. Limitation of Liability
- MRA is not liable for any losses resulting from misuse of the EIS.
- Users are responsible for ensuring tax law compliance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi, including the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, 2024.
14. Amendments
MRA reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes.
